Temple of Devotion Participant Agreement & Informed Consent

December 11–14, 2026 · Henry, Illinois

Temple of Devotion is an intimate, experiential women’s Temple Arts retreat facilitated by Marissa Rose / Marissa Rose LLC.

This agreement exists so that every woman entering the Temple understands the nature of the retreat, the experiences that may be offered, our commitment to sovereignty and consent, and the practical agreements that allow us to create this container together.

By registering for Temple of Devotion, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to the following.

1. THE NATURE OF THE RETREAT

I understand that Temple of Devotion is an educational, experiential, embodiment-based retreat.

The retreat may include experiences such as:

  • Somatic and embodiment practices

  • Nervous system regulation

  • Breathwork and meditation

  • Movement and ecstatic dance

  • Cacao ceremony

  • Journaling, writing, and poetry

  • Conversations and teachings around sexuality, pleasure, desire, Eros, the womb, breasts, and vulva

  • Guided lymphatic drainage and breast self-massage

  • Yoni/vulva steaming

  • Womb meditation

  • Mindful erotic practice

  • Sensual and/or erotic self-touch

  • Optional nudity within designated practices

  • Hot tub and fire pit use

  • Outdoor and nature-based experiences

  • Ritual and ceremony

I understand that the exact schedule and practices may shift based on the needs of the group, weather, timing, safety, or the natural unfolding of the retreat.

2. SOVEREIGNTY & EMBODIED CONSENT

Temple of Devotion is rooted in sovereignty and embodied consent.

I understand that every practice is optional.

At any moment, I am free to:

Say yes.
Say no.
Change my mind.
Modify a practice.
Witness instead of participate.
Take a break.
Leave the room.
Rest.
Ask a question.

I do not need to justify my choice.

I understand that consent is ongoing and may be withdrawn at any time.

Intimate, sensual, and erotic practices offered during the retreat are centered around self-touch. I will never be required to receive intimate touch from the facilitator or another participant.

I agree to honor my own boundaries and to respect the boundaries, bodily autonomy, privacy, and consent of every woman in the container.

3. MINDFUL EROTIC PRACTICE & OPTIONAL NUDITY

I understand that Temple of Devotion may include a facilitated Mindful Erotic Practice exploring embodiment, sensation, pleasure, Eros, and connection with my own body.

Pleasure and Eros may be explored through breath, movement, dancing, sensuality, stillness, self-touch, erotic self-touch, or other self-directed expressions.

There is no required sexual activity, erotic touch, or nudity.

Nudity may be invited only within designated practices where it supports the experience and will always remain optional.

I am responsible for choosing the level of participation that feels aligned for me.

4. YONI STEAMING

I understand that yoni/vulva steaming involves exposure to warmth and steam and may not be appropriate for every body or circumstance.

Participation is completely optional.

Alternative practices will be available for women who are menstruating, pregnant, uncomfortable with steaming, or otherwise choose not to participate.

I agree to listen to my body and discontinue the practice if I experience pain, dizziness, excessive heat, irritation, discomfort, or any other concerning symptoms.

5. PHYSICAL & EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING

I understand that embodiment, breath, movement, erotic exploration, ritual, group sharing, heat exposure, dancing, self-massage, and other retreat experiences can create physical and emotional responses.

These may include emotional activation, vulnerability, memories, fatigue, soreness, dizziness, changes in mood, or unexpected feelings and sensations.

I am responsible for listening to my body, honoring my limits, and determining whether a particular practice feels appropriate for me.

I understand that I may stop, rest, modify, or opt out of any experience at any time.

6. HEALTH & WELLNESS

I understand that Temple of Devotion is educational and experiential in nature.

The retreat is not medical treatment, psychotherapy, psychiatric care, or a replacement for support from a qualified healthcare professional.

I am responsible for considering my own health and circumstances when choosing whether and how to participate in retreat activities.

If I am pregnant, recovering from an injury or procedure, managing a health condition, taking medication that may affect my participation, or have another concern about a practice, I understand that it is my responsibility to seek appropriate professional guidance when needed.

7. CACAO, FOOD & DIETARY NEEDS

I understand that meals, snacks, tea, and cacao will be provided during the retreat.

Dietary accommodations, including vegetarian and vegan meals, can be made when communicated in advance.

I am responsible for informing the retreat team of known food allergies or dietary restrictions before the retreat and determining whether cacao, foods, herbs, beverages, or other offerings are appropriate for me.

I understand that while reasonable accommodations can be made, a completely allergen-free environment cannot be guaranteed.

8. PARTICIPATION & ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I understand that a multi-day residential retreat and the activities offered within it involve ordinary and inherent risks.

These may include risks associated with movement and dancing, breathwork, emotional activation, self-massage, sensual or erotic self-exploration, yoni steaming and heat exposure, cacao and food consumption, hot tub use, fire pit use, stairs, outdoor or uneven surfaces, weather, shared accommodations, travel, and the ordinary activities associated with staying on a rural property.

I understand the nature of these activities and voluntarily choose which experiences I participate in.

I accept responsibility for listening to my body, communicating my needs, and making choices about my own participation.

9. PREGNANCY, MENSTRUATION & INDIVIDUAL NEEDS

I understand that every body has different needs.

If I am pregnant, menstruating, recovering from an injury or procedure, or otherwise unable or unwilling to participate in a particular practice, modifications or alternative practices may be available.

I understand that I am always welcome to choose the alternative practice, rest, witness, or opt out entirely.

10. CONFIDENTIALITY & SISTERHOOD

Temple of Devotion may include vulnerable, personal, and intimate sharing.

I agree to honor the privacy of the women inside the container.

I will not share another participant’s personal stories, intimate experiences, identifying information, or private disclosures outside of the retreat without her explicit permission.

I understand that while the retreat facilitators will cultivate a culture of confidentiality, they cannot guarantee the actions of every participant.

11. ACCOMMODATIONS & THE RETREAT PROPERTY

I understand that Temple of Devotion takes place at a farmhouse on rural land in Henry, Illinois.

I understand that:

  • Stairs are required.

  • Three bathrooms are shared among retreat participants.

  • Bedrooms and/or beds may be shared depending upon the accommodation selected.

  • The property includes a hot tub and fire pit.

  • Outdoor and rural terrain may be uneven.

  • The property may not accommodate every accessibility need.

I have reviewed the accommodation information and understand that I am responsible for asking questions before attending if I am unsure whether the property can accommodate my needs.

12. TRANSPORTATION & CARPOOLING

Transportation to and from the retreat is not included.

Carpool coordination may be provided as a courtesy, and gas costs will be arranged and split among riders.

I understand that participants are independently responsible for their transportation arrangements, driving, vehicle safety, insurance, fuel costs, and decisions regarding whom they travel with.

13. DEPOSIT, PAYMENT & CANCELLATION POLICY

I understand that my deposit reserves my selected accommodation and my place inside Temple of Devotion and is applied toward my total retreat investment.

My deposit and any additional retreat payments are refundable through October 18, 2026.

Beginning October 19, 2026, all retreat payments are non-refundable.

I understand that this policy exists because, at that point, retreat funds are committed toward the land, chef, food, accommodations, supplies, and other costs required to create the retreat.

If I am unable to attend after October 18, I may transfer my ticket/reservation to another woman.

I understand that finding the replacement participant and coordinating the transfer are my responsibility.

Any replacement participant must be at least 18 years old, complete the required registration information, and agree to this Participant Agreement before attending.

If I cannot attend and do not find someone to take my place, no refund will be provided after October 18, 2026.

14. CHANGES TO THE RETREAT

I understand that the exact retreat schedule, practices, meals, facilitators, or other details may shift when reasonably necessary because of weather, safety, group needs, availability, or other circumstances.

The heart and intention of Temple of Devotion will remain the same even if individual details evolve.

15. PERSONAL BELONGINGS

I understand that I am responsible for my personal belongings during the retreat and am encouraged to keep valuables secure.

16. COMMUNITY AGREEMENTS

I agree to participate in a way that honors the physical, emotional, sexual, and interpersonal boundaries of the other women in the space.

I understand that coercion, harassment, non-consensual touch, threatening behavior, or repeated disregard for another woman’s boundaries is not compatible with the Temple of Devotion container.

Behavior that compromises the safety, consent, or integrity of the group may result in being asked to leave the retreat.

17. AGE REQUIREMENT

I confirm that I will be 18 years of age or older at the time of Temple of Devotion.

18. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

I understand the nature of Temple of Devotion and voluntarily choose to participate.

I understand that this retreat invites me into exploration rather than requiring me to participate in any particular experience.

I am responsible for my own choices, boundaries, participation, health, belongings, and well-being throughout the retreat.

I understand that I am welcome to ask questions before or during the retreat whenever I need greater clarity.
